Roseman Piano Tuning and Repair

Rex Roseman started Roseman Piano Tuning in 1980 after studying with a private tuner/technician in the Cleveland area. Upon completion of the basic course, a second course in piano rebuilding was completed. Over the ensuing years, experience has been gained in tuning and repairing all major brands of pianos. The Cleveland convention center was the first major institutional contract and the dance department of the University of Akron, the music department of the College of Wooster and Steinway Piano Gallery of Cleveland are all current customers. Continuing education is an ongoing initiative as an associate member of the Piano Technicians Guild and through association with the local piano stores.

Musical Experience

Piano tuning at Roseman Piano Tuning is approached from more of a musical then a technical mind set. With a BA in piano performance and a MM in Organ performance as background, the musical aspects of piano tuning are of utmost importance. Basic mechanical skills were learned working in a machine shop and studying woodworking and have been developed for the specific requirements of piano repair.

Harpsichords

Building, repairing and tuning of harpsichords is also a part of this business. We currently have 3 institutional instruments under contract. If you are interested in knowing more about this aspect of the business, please complete the contact form on the last page of the website.
